Leave it to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall to start a quarterback controversy just weeks into the offseason.

Marshall caught four touchdown passes in a dominant Pro Bowl performance and wasn’t afraid to give the credit to his quarterbacks.

The wideout said that playing with the Pro Bowl quarterbacks made life a lot easier on him, insinuating he wasn’t enamored with his current situation.

Marshall only caught six touchdown passes all season, so it’s understandable that he might be a bit frustrated with his quarterback.

The Dolphins could express interest in Peyton Manning, but it remains unknown whether he would even be healthy enough to play next year.

The Miami Dolphins fired head coach Tony Sparano despite his team’s resurgence in the second half of the season.

Sparano’s head has been on the chopping block for some time, including this offseason when the team was rumored to want a new head coach.

Awkwardly, the Dolphins were unable to land the big names it was courting and had to back and give Sparano a vote of confidence.

The team got off to a terrible start this year thanks to a season-ending injury to the starting quarterback, Chad Henne.

The Miami job is likely to generate a fair amount of interest, and former Ravens head coach Brian Billick has already thrown his hat in the ring.

Henne left the game and did not return, forcing Matt Moore into action. There is no word on how much time Henne may miss.

The team was also hurting at the running back position with rookie Daniel Thomas out, forcing them to feature Reggie Bush in the backfield.

As the losses continue to pile up for the Dolphins, head coach Tony Sparano’s seat only grows hotter.

Pennington is coming off of more shoulder surgery but still wants to come back and play quarterback.

Ironically, he was named starter in Week 10 and managed just a couple of plays before suffering the injury.

Some of Pennington’s desire to return has to do with Chad Henne’s struggles for much of last season.

There would likely be an open competition for the starting job in training camp, and Pennington could certainly win it.

It’s possible that Cowher and Harbaugh were both not interested in the Dolphins, so Sparano was an acceptale fallback option.

Sparano had been successful with the Dolphins until this year when his team fell apart down the stretch and went just 1-7 at home.

Owner Stephen Ross wanted to make a flashy hire, but is probably considered about the potential lockout.

The Dolphins have still won just one game at home this year, which is almost unthinkable for a team in the playoff race.

The Dolphins were unable to get any sort of running game going against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL.

They did finally get a big game from wideout Brandon Marshall, who finished with 11 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown.

The loss is a gigantic blow to Miami’s playoff hopes, which were already slim considering the teams in front of them.

The Dolphins turned the ball over late in the game deep in their own territory, which lead to Cleveland’s game-winning field goal.

Miami couldn’t get any type of offense generated, especially with quarterback Chad Henne turning in an erratic performance.

After getting off to a decent start, Henne finished with 174 yards passing, a touchdown and three interceptions.

The loss moves Miami to 6-6 on the season and means they most likely have to win out to have any playoff hopes.
