Dolphins face brutal road schedule next season

By Bud L. Ellis

In order for the Miami Dolphins to crack through the tough top two in the AFC East, they will have to play well on the road in 2010.

The Dolphins will visit playoff teams in six of their eight road games next season. The home schedule is somewhat easier, with just two playoff teams visiting Miami.

The National Football League has released its list of home games and road games for each team. The dates and times for the games will be announced later this spring.

But the Dolphins know the degree of difficulty rises when they leave South Florida. On the road, it’s a murderous stretch of tough games away from home, including trips to AFC East champion New England, AFC runner-up the New York Jets, NFC North champion and NFC runner up Minnesota, NFC wild-card team Green Bay, AFC North champion Cincinnati and AFC wild-card qualifier Baltimore.

The other two road games come at Buffalo and at Oakland.

At home it’s far easier: the only playoff teams are the Patriots and Jets. The rest of the home schedule consists of Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Tennessee

Based on opponents’ winning percentage from last season, the Dolphins schedule in 2010 ranks tied for 16th toughest in the NFL, with Buffalo, the Jets and Oakland.

R. Brown charged with DUI

Miami Dolphins star running back Ronnie Brown has been charged with driving under the influence.

The running back was in the Atlanta area celebrating his parents anniversary before he was arrested.

His mother told police that Brown ate dinner with the family before leaving to go out to a club.

He was pulled over for failing to use a turn signal, but his mother alleges it was because he is black and was driving a nice car.

This will not play over well with the Dolphins, who are already upset with the number of their players that have run into trouble with the law of late.
